Alardah Alnajdiyah–traditional Saudi men’s performance

Finally I have some information on traditional Saudi men’s dance and music. You can see a great video made by Saudi Heritage Preservation Society and UNESCO, celebrating the song, dance, drums, swords and poetry of Alardah Alnajdiyah. The entire performance is male participation only. Saudi women are involved in drum making and embroidering the intricate gold designs on the participants clothing. This traditional dance is performed at the end of religious holidays, weddings, and important times. It’s purpose is to unite people in unity and to keep alive tradition passed down, as well as show equality to each participant. Have a look!
